Default K&N, Big sucker, or Screaming eagle airfilter

I am ready to buy an air filter kit and noticed differences between the manufacturers. I want the K&N but I was wondering if the kit came with the open back plate like the Screaming Eagle and the Big Sucker. Any advice will help.

I bought the Big sucker because it was less and has the chrome back cover and internal vents. It was about $115 delivered. It has a like K&N filter

Local HD dealer had a sale a few months ago and I purchased the SC kit, I painted the backing plate flat black, and am using the SC airfilter, but when its "bad" I'm switching to K&N..if I could have done over, I would go with the Big Sucker, chrome and K&N, and priced about the same as the on sale SC.

The filter on the K&N is open behind the stock cover if that's what ya mean, I also like the velocity port that comes with the unit....

I use a Big Sucker kit right now, real happy with it...you can't go wrong with K&N, and SE would be my last choice, with that cheap-o paper media...

I put a Screaming Eagle Stage 1 on my 06 Heritage & added a K&N oiled replacement filter to it. I then installed a K&N kit on my brother's 06 fat boy. I'm one of the 1st to holler about how the moco overcharges for their accessories...but I have to admit here...the Screaming Eagle kit was made much better than the K&N kit I installed on my brother's scoot. just my 2 cents

AN Big Sucker or K&N if ya wanna go cheap.

Doherty Power Pacc with powervents if ya wanna spend the lil' extra. Better performance, but twice the price. (ouch!)

Forcewinder is also nice, but that is another look...

When the Big Sucker first came out my husband thought it was named after me???? But he got one and then found a fantastic air filter cover from MetalArts. They make beautiful American quality parts and I highly recommend them for what ever stage 1 or 2 filter you use. The pict is me (tall blond, and friend in front of my husbands second love. You should see the matching skull air horns on the opposite side of bike!! Two big honkers!
