Im installing apes on my train. I purchased the pshycho 18" apes along with the 1 1/4 chubby risers and a HD skull clamp. I tried installing them but the bolts for the clamp seem to be too long. What is the fix on this? do I need Washers? or shorter bolts? I noticed that the stock clamp is thicker than the skull clamp.

 

I bought shorter bolts at Lowes and covered with hot toppers.

 

sounds kool rwhite, thanx. I already bought the chrome bolts from harleyso I wanna avoid buying new ones again. Anyone know if it will weaken them if I cut them about a half inch so theyscrew in all the way?
