Default Changing my Air cover

I have done a SEARCH, but couldnt find anything so can someone help me as I have had 2 different answers from 2 different HD shops here in Sweden,
I am changing the Football Air cover with just the round cover plate so the air filter isnt covered , If I do this do I need to re tune the bike ? I have a 2006 FB.Do I need to do anything or just bolt it on ??

As you are possibly going to add more air to the motor then yes you have to adjust the fueling!!!

As you will be gulping in more air it will make your bike run even leaner then if was before the change, Yes if nothing else get the stage 1 download for the ECM...

Have you already put on a stage 1? cuz if you have already put on a stage 1 and ur just going to replace the cover then no, you don't need to tune again.

If you have not put on a stage 1 then yes, you will need to tune it by removing the cover and box behind the cover.

You will need to change the whole air filter set up first if you want to run an uncovered filter. Something like the Screaming Eagle, Arlen Ness Big Sucker or K & N will be needed to put a round cover on.

Stage1 download is all you will need to stop the bike running too lean.

You will be suprised though of the improvement it does make to the running of the bike.

This is correct, you can't just put a round filter on the stock backing plate. End even if you could it would not work very well and look like crap with the oval backing plate hanging out both sides.
Best bet is to do exactly what skulznflames said then either get the stage 1 download or put in some form of fuel management system to keep the engine, and your thighsfrom frying.

Yes, you will need to have the bike dyno'd again to reset the AFR(Air Fuel Ratio)
