i saw a chart that says i can put a 160/60/18 on the rear of my '02 softail using an 18"x4.25" wheel without making any modifications. has anyone done this? any pics?
Yes you can. You need to use a non-standard hub that moves the wheel to the right a bit, might need new spacers too. I had to machine a bitoff my spocket also. It is a tight fit though so you will need to clear the inside of the fender well making sure the strut bolts do not protrude into the fender. A 150 tireismuch more managable.
doin a 150 without any mods (so i'm told) for now. i have heard a hundred different theories about this. from not having to change anything, to having to buy spacers, caliper, smaller belt, etc.. we'll see... thanks for the input...
Thats the setup we just finished putting on my 92 fxsts. We changed to a chain drive and it lined up perfect. We didn't have to use any spacer kit just the sprocket conversion. We also went with a straight 46 tooth sprocket on the rim. We did have to go with a wider fender though I don't know if you will.
