With the excemption of a dealers stamp why should I not service my own fat boy.
looking at the engine it has a self adjusting primary chain so other than fluids brakes tyres and a bit of grease in the head stock what else is there to do.
I just hadthe 15K mile service done on my Fat Boy at my local stealer. Total $270, of which $70 is parts (using syn 3), replaced plugs, adjusted throttle, clutch, clean air filter, lube jiffy stand, check batteryand several other things I would otherwise skip, bike runs smoother and is more responsive. Well worth the money.
I just did my own 15k and i had the dealer do what I could not. All they needed to do was 1/3 hr labor for steering head bolt adjust and lube. about $32 after tax. If yours ran better after the 15k it was most likely the spark plug gaps.
