Default riding buddy down....

Me and my son (he was riding on my bike) and my buddy had been out riding, got some lunch and headed home before the storm got us.We were were 2.5 miles from my house...went thru the last intersection, land rover changed lanes in front of us and slammed on brakes. My buddy locked the back tire, smoked it, fishtailed but to no avail...he creamed into the back of the land rover and it literally looked he leaped frogged his bars, slamming into the spare tire. No cuts though...he walked away from it.

His spotless 01 springer wasn't so unfortunate...custom paint job - gone due to road rash, front forks bent, front rim probably bent (and this was a cnc custom rim) front fender bent under cutting the tire....i'm guessing about 5-6K damages.

but like I told him, I'm just glad he was able to tell the leo what happened. No ticket given to either party - land rover had buddies that told a different story.

He was quite sore yesterday.

thankfully he was not hurt. Insurance will come in handy. Make sure your son learns from your friends misfortune. I guess he could be in the market for a new scoot.

I'm glad to hear that your buddy is doing well Jzabel! We have the same problem down this way...too many driversdon't look and they don't care! And that includes some bikers as well!

That's why we carryinsurance...

Thanks everyone.

Actually a cager pulled behind us so nobody would cream us while we waited for the leo...and the leo was like a block away.

My son was fine also...I didn't have to lock down or anything - he was like me - couldn't believe the car just whipped it over and slammed on brakes.

I'm just glad he was able to talk to me afterwards.

Ride safe....anything can happen!!!
