04 Haritage-Chrome Swingarm Covers
Hi.
My objective: Without chroming the swingarms, I want a chromed look via covers but do not want the weld or gap to be seen between the forward end of the Phantom covers and the rear end of the swingarm covers.
I purchased Kuryakyn Phantom covers (8200) and then the Kuryakyn Swingarm cover SET (8108). There is a notation that in some applications that the weld will be visible when the swingarm covers are used. After installation of those covers, it does allow the welds to be visible. If they were to be about 3/4 inch longer they would cover the weld. The Kuryakyn swingarm cover set (8108) fit between the welds on the swing arm, so at the phantom cover end the weld is visible.
In asking Kuryakyn what the advantage would be if the swingarm KIT (8200) was used instead, the answer is that it would not make any difference because the KIT (8256) is just an 8108 and 8200 sold together.
I then purchased the HD phantom covers...they are the same length as the Kuryakyn phantom covers...so they did not solve my problem.
The problem would be solved if someone manufactured a one piece swingarm cover that incorporates the phantom cover, then there would be no gaps or welds visible.
Any suggestions anyone?

RE: 04 Haritage-Chrome Swingarm Covers
I would take them off and sell em on the classifides. In my hunble opinion they add nothing to a bike and look like what they are; covers.
Sorry, I know thats not what you wanted to hear, but I don't think I'm alone in that opinion. At any rate, good luck.
