I am going to pick up Wild1 Chubby WO502 12.5" Apes for my 2008 Fatboy. Do I need to get riser's or any other part to make these bars work? I was thinking about going with the WO536 Hidden Hardware Billet top clamp. Will that work with an 08 Fatboy? Is that all I really need then if I want to replace the top clamp?

 

I'm not positive, but I think you will need risers too. That is if the apes your installing are stepped down at the riser mounts. I know when I installed my apes I had to change out the risers, as the bars were stepped to 1" at the mounting points. I just bought risers from a member off a heritage. They're all interchangable. Other than that, just cables, and maybe wiring extensions? Wish I could be of more help.

what size risers do you have? i have a set of 6" HD risers off my night train you can have if you need em!

 

I think the '07's and '08's run the 1.25" risers. The stock bars are not stepped.

 

Thanks guys! Your right. Stock bars aren't stepped. I bought the WO525 1.5" risers from Wild1, WO502 12.5" apes, and the WO536 Billet Top clamp with hidden mounting bolts.

Are the 06's differant?

I put Chubby 10" mini apes on my 02 Heritage Softail and did not change risers.

What do you guys mean by the bars being stepped?

You mean the knurled piece on the chubby's is bigger than stock?

They were not on my Heritage
