150 is widest tire that will go on stock 3" rim. I put a 150/80/16 on my 2000 heritage today. Dealer told me I couldn't do it without the $500. wide tire kit. He was wrong, I bought the tire, had it mounted and balanced and it fit perfect in the swing arm. I cut the saddle bag bolts to give the tire more clearance. I Just went for a ride and tryed to hit every bump, it didn't rub.
