95" Big Bore Kit, Stage 1 or Stage II?
I am looking at getting the 95" Big Bore kit and 204 cams. I have read on here the 204's are better for low and mid range torque and for normal riding. I don't want to do a high compression job b/c I want to maintain as much reliability as possible. I just want to get my hp and tq numbers up a bit. I emailed zanotti motor and they reccomended I go with the Stage 1 kit (no cams) and then purchase the 204 cam seperately. Does this sound like a good idea?
Here are the prices they quoted me:
95" Stage 1 Kit: 29774-02B$ 502.98SE A/C credit<$ 84.00>SE-204 Cam 25149-00$ 211.37Total for Parts: $630.35I know there are probably better kits out there from GMR or HQ, but I am not looking to put 3-4K into this project. What should I expect for labor?

If you want to stay with HD..Download the screamin eagle parts catalogue and look at the different set-up..Most of the battle is getting the right parts together.

" I just want to get my hp and tq numbers up a bit."
Have you looked at installing a cam only. HQ34. After talking with Keith at HQ and a PhilM and Harleypingman(who have installed this cam) The HQ34 (sounds like a great cam for getting the HP and TQ numbers up without spending a ton of money. This cam does well with stock motor or future mods. This is the direction I am going when ready. The price between the 204 and the HQ is minimal. From what I have heard and read the difference in performance is more than minimal.

the parts and prices are from www.zanottimotor.com
I wasn't going with just a cam b/c I have read on here that the difference is minimal with just the cam, and may not justify the labor cost. I am certainly open to doing that. Just exploring all my options right now. This will bea winter project.

My bike came with the Stage 1 95 ci kit on it from the factory (no cams) and I can tell you there is not much difference over a stock 88.
I am also looking into adding the SE203 to my bike to make it a Stage 2 95 kit. Te 2 local dealers both agree that cams make the most bang for the buck.

I think if I am getting the parts for $630.00 (see initial post), then maybe the labor will come in at $500 approx.(just guessing). I don't think $1100-$1200 is a bad price foran engine build.
