Anyone do the springer fork adjustments at home? is it really
necessary? In the past all I would do with my head bearings is wiggle the forks feeling for play.[/align]

Apparantly the lower rocker adjustment is critical after the first 500 miles, but then only every 10K. The head bearings must be lubricated every 2500 miles and at 500 miles. The factory does not pack the head with grease, but only greases the bearing. The first time you fill the complete head, it will take the better part of the grease tube to do it. There is a dvd that I bought that trains techs on how to maintain the head and lower rocker bearings including how to adjust them. It was excellent and took you completely thru the process. PM me offline and I can give you the info to obtain one if you want.
