Default Cam cover and outer primary removal ?

Wondering if I will lose fluids if I exchange My Cam cover with a black one, same size. Or do I need to remove trans and oil first? Not really sure If I can even get in there without removing the pipes.?? Would like to do the outerprimary as well.

Any advise?? Im getting a manual before I attempt anything, just thought to ask some expert wrenches first.

Thanks,

Joe

You will lose a little motor oil when changing the cam cover. The primary will be drained when you remove the outer primary. You may have to top off the motor oil when done. The primary should hold about a quart, it will have to be refilled. As for removing the pipes that will depend on what bike you have. I suggest getting the Harley manual.

The TC88 cam cover isn't structural, all it does is contain the oil. You will need to remove the pipes in order to get the cam cover off, there is no other way todo it. You will not lose much oil. The bike will look great with Black covers........GL
