I have a 98 softail custom that im trying to sell. I have no idea what mods the original owner did to it before i got it ( i never got to speak to the guy) so im trying to put together a list so i can tell people who are interested in it. I think the engine is stock, the carb/air cleaner are.

From the little i know, I can tell.
1) Wheels/tires swapped from originals, i think these are from a Heritage? Looks silly with the skinny front fender still!
2) handlebar risers look non-original to me.
3) non-original gas caps.
4) chrome frame inserts i dont think were stock.

I have since put the turn signals and stock pipes back on the bike. I have other photos if needed.

 

the pipes look like Vance &Hines long shots, chrome rear pully cover, chrome HD lower belt guard, aftermarket risers, chrome frame inserts, chrome lower dash, aftermarket gas caps.

 

that is a good looking bike that just need to be detailed, and a few more pieces. new bars and seat would totally change this bike........I have the same bike, except its a springer, and once I changed the bars to drag bars, and a badlander seat it became on hot bike.

Here is what it looks like now that i took the drag pipes off. Cant pass inspection here with them on and they had a dent as you can see. Are the controls stock on this?

Don't take this the wrong way...I think your trying too hard.

A ten year old bike will most likely not be stock and a potential buyer will know what he/she is looking for.

Yea i know but im having a hard time selling it with the current economy so i figured the more details/extras i can list the better.

I understand...Ebay, craigslist....Try www.Bostonbiker.com ....Unfortunatley with this economy it's a $8-10K bike depending on mileage.

 

Im onlyasking $8500 under 13000 miles. Already tried ebay and craigslist. Will checkout the bostonbiker site
