Mustang Vintage Solo
Has anyone out there had experience with the Mustang Vintage Solo (the 14" one).
I ride a deluxe and am 5'7", 155 lbs with an inseam of about 29"
I have had mustang seats before on my old metric bike and I know that it raises you up some.
The musang seat was the most comfortable seat I have ever ridden on but myconcern is if I get the 17.5" wide seat that I will not be able to be flat footed.
Any experience ... would be appreciated!!!

RE: Mustang Vintage Solo
I just put the 14" Vintage Solo on my Heritage last Friday. It's remarkable the difference between it and the stock saddle. Compared to the stock saddle I don't believe the Mustang raised me up or changed my position relative to the bars at all. If anything, I feel a little closer to the ground (more bend in the knees when my feet are on the ground). Great saddle so far, very comfortable right out of the box. The true test will be next week when I ride from Arkansas to Nebraska.
By the way, I ordered mine from DennisKirk.com ($227). Free shipping and no sales tax. Got it in four days. I also got the studded 6" wide pillon to go with it.

RE: Mustang Vintage Solo
I had Mustang solos on both my Sprty's and loved them. Put a Mustang Fastback on my Softy and love that one too. Its really hard to find another seat that feels as good as Mustangs within that price range. Everyone else that claims to be that confortable charges $400+ minimum.
5'7" on a Deluxe with a Mustang seat will still allow you to sit flat footed. You'd need to sit on a few phone books to not be.

RE: Mustang Vintage Solo
I have the Mustang Vintage Solo on my Night train and it seems the same as of where my feet are when I had the stock seat on. I am 6'1", 215, so I never a problem with my feet touching. The seat in general is GREAT! have been on a few LONG rides with no problems at all.

RE: Mustang Vintage Solo
smylieg,
I just switched from the 14" Mustang Vintage solo to the 17". I switched because my back kills me on long rides, so I got the seat with the backrest. I am the same height as you 5'5" and I was flat footed with the 14". With the 17" my heals are a little off the ground. My legs go out more with the added width. If you are interested I'm selling the 14" for $75.00. I only used it for one season, (2007)
