Default List to turn a 2007 fatboy to a roadking bagger

To begin the transformation you must first decide on a couple of things

a) Will I carry a passenger
b) Will I need a nice looking bike without the bags?

I carry a passenger so it was a must to have removable backrest and a large pillion seat. And YES I do prefer the looks of the softail so I needed a setup that looks good with no saddles.

To begin with you need a set of pipes that flow below the line of the rear axles
Then you need to relocate the blinkers on the fender
And lastly you will need the mount to place the bags on.

I used V&H true duals with a fuel pack and an arlen ness stage II air element to be able to accommodate the bracket. I then relocated the taillights on the fender with the great biker gear set up to make room for the road king bags and I used the chrome mount from cycle vision to mount the bags.

The rest is up to you to decide if you are to use plastic bags or leather, samson true duals or other type and so on.

My pointers are as follows:
If you use detachable mounting system for rear components, you must use button head screws to avoid hitting the bags, avoid the use of floor boards because there is no way to mount them with an extension which makes it a bit hard on the legs of the pillion. Be very mindful of the extra width of the bike (especially on 200mm tire bikes) it may became an issue
