how can I tell where my suspension is set?
(My bike 1995 FX springer) My bike feels alright when I ride alone, and is OK for when my wife rides, however in turns I am scrapping my lower frame or primary cover. Is there a way to look at the shocks and tell about where they were set by the previous owner? I have looked up how to adjust, I am just curiuos where they are set now. Thanks. Luke

RE: how can I tell where my suspension is set?
Look at the front end of the shocks. At the very front is where the shock is mounted. Just aft of there is the retention nut that has to be loosened in order to turn the shock body, for setting them to the soft or firm setting. Just forward of the retention nut there should be 4 threads visible, if the shocks are set to the softest setting. There will be no threads visible if the shocks are set to the firmest position.
