Will a Arlin Ness or Screaming eagle air cleaner boost performancy any on a 2002 FatBoy FLSTFI? I just had the easy pull clutch installed andI"m really happy with it so now I'm ready for more HP and Torque. I'm not going to go for a new exhaust but just wonder how many HP does a new air cleaner add?

 

I have a 2002 heritage. I have the Screaming eagle air cleaner, screaming eagle II exhaust and a Power commander III on it. I was told it increases the HP about 5 or 6 HP, approx 10%. I'll be interested in what others say.

 

I believe it increases it 6 hp. My train is 103.

 

Idiot if i'm not mistaken 96 and 6 is......102 not 103.....i guess that why i ride with a skid lid....not much to protect..

I would love to believe this but i have been lead to believe that if you increase the air in, and increase the fuel in (so to remove the lean condition) that you also need to let the air out by changing the exhaust to something less restrictive, even if this is just slip ons.

I would like to do the screaming Eagle air cleaner and a sert or thunder max without changing my pipes, but everything I have read on this site says it is useless

any thoughts, basically what goes in must come out.

I have a big bore kit (jugs,portedheads w/compression release already installed, pistons 10.5 TO 1, and red shift 577 cams) everything is from an 02 twin cam b motor,(fatboy) lookin to get around $1,200.00, the motor made 100 hp and 105lbs of torque, the bike ran real strong all through the powerband, it has about 7,000 miles, the only reason for selling is I'm strokin and pokin my original cases for more cubic inches, any questions hit me up, thanks, Mark

 

Based upon my experiments with this, I doubt you will feel much change, if any. I ended up putting on Bub7's, SERT and Stage1 air cleaner and saw about 7 more hp and about 8 more tq. It is alot cooler, smoother and fun to ride, but it didn't rock my world with the increases.

 

You can expect anywhere from 8-12HP and 8-12 Ft lbs of tq. As stated above about 10%

 

I dont think anything with just air cleaner. I gained 11hp and 9lb tq with the stage 1 and dyno tune. I did not want a new exhaust system so i got Rush slip ons.
