Default shudder at take off

slight shudder in the drive train when I take off in 1st gear...any ideas what it may be or how to fix it? Also anyone know how much oil I will need to change the oil on a 04 SE Deuce with a 95 inch motor?

Thanks

Are you dumpin the clutch and not giving it enough gas? Check the slop in the cluth cable too.

Oh, I believe 3.5 - 4 quarts for your oil change.

If you are doing everything right, like enough throttle, it sounds like a clutch adjustment. I'm no expert, but I'd be surprised if you have a hydraulic clutch on your bike. But, HD may have put them on the CVO's.

Your oil capacity is probably around 3-1/2 quarts but when you change the oil and filter, only add 3 quarts, let the bike warm up, then set the bike on the side stand and check the oil adding as necessary. If you put 3-1/2 quarts in the tank, you'll overfill the bike because there is always oil left in the crankcase.

I may be wrong but the hydro clutch makes for an easier pull. Try riding the clutch out longer (the release) and give it more gas and see what happens. There still will be that "sweet spot" somewhere, you just have to find it. It's a wet clutch so your not going to hurt anything by doing that.
