Default Pipes...Oh The Choices

Hey Everyone,

I have been looking to buy new pipes for the last month or so and am not 100% sure what to get. I bought a 2001 Deuce EFI about two years ago and it had the Screamin' Eagle Pro 2 into 1 exhaust which I do like but it is time for a change. I would also like the pipes to be a little louder. The person I bought the bike from gave me all the original receipts, so I know the bike has the Stage 1 Upgrade and another item listed was the Softail EFI Mult US Cart for $134.96, not sure if that plays into anything. I have been looking at Vance & Hines pipes, every pair I have heard I have liked and I think I am going to go with them. Just not sure which ones.

I am curious as to what people would recommend, I don't want to lost any power or anything like that and would love for the bike to ride exactly the same...just a little louder. I was also curious if I would need any other "Stage" upgrades or a Power Commander or other things. I am pretty unsure about all this so your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Again and Ride Safe,

I went through four sets of pipes on my 99 Heritage and was determined I wasn't going to do that with my 07. Bought the pipes I wanted the first time. Big Shot Longs. Look great, sound nice. But that's me, it's your ride so....

you can't go wrong with any V&H pipes, just pick the ones you like best and don't look back!

I just ordered the Rinehart Crossback exhaust for my CVO Springer.....

as far as a tuner goes, I'm sure you can do better with a PCIII or SERT than the HD cartridge........

I really like my V&H Long shots on my FXSTS. They sound sweet. I have (Still on the garage wall) the Screaming Eagle staggard pipes on it when I bought it. They sounded kind of "Tinny" if that is the right description? These have a much throatier growl to them.
