Default Help! Mustang seat problems

After trying all the Harley seats I finally broke down and bought a Mustang solo and pillion. For $730 I was hoping for an end to the search.

The seat arrived and was very comfortable but an hour after installing it creases showed up on the seat and remained...even while parked in the sun all day.

This is the third seat they have sent explaining that there was a problem with the glue and how it adheres when curing. Well now with the third doing the same thing I am thinking about returning and going to Corbin. Anyone else have the same problem? I have installed it on an 07 Heritage Classic.

Here are the two prior seats (I weight 195 at 5-10)

so you're upset that the seat it trying to conform to your fat ***? LOL

sorry couldn't resist.

is the seat comfortable?
bottom line is that if you're not happy with the seat then get something different.

Very nice response!

Acutally it is comfortable but each seems stretch the vinyl so that there is extra material causing ridges and wrinkles. I was hoping for a responce from someone who owns one to verify if in fact they are defective or it is typical of the break in process.

Corbin is only $70 more and will likely be the next step.

Anyone out there with a Mustang who may be able to help? Thank you!

I know that over time even my Corbin seat gets some wrinkles, although I ahve had mine for over two years and 30,000 miles I would expect some wrinkles from the moisture, heat, rain, cold all those elements. It does not look as bad as the new seat you just purchased.

Does yours roll up and wrinkle from too much vinyl material as well? The rep ALex at Mustang said they have had problems with the glue curing and it sticks to the vinyl and when it breaks away it leaves the rolling wrinkles.

If they can't cure it I will order a Corbin and send these back.

Mine has a couple of wrinkles in the material on the upright portion of the seat...where your lower back touches it. Honestly, it's not a big deal to me but then, I ride around most of the time with a dirty bike, too! I don't really care for the "clean and pressed" look.

Since they admit to having a problem and have sent you multiple seats, I'd make sure that they will continue to stand behind the seat for an extended period IF it really gets bad. That is, IF you decide to keep the Mustang seat.

You can see the wrinkles in mine in this pic...

i guess if it was a bother I would get it redone in leather. Is that the 17.5 in? I was thinking of getting one.

I have the same seat and have never noticed any wrinkles. It appears that maybe when you are stopped your legs are causing the seat to buckle slightly. They are wider than most seats and hence more comfy under way. I have my bike lowered which might help prevent some stress from the legs being closer together at rest. My feet are flat on the ground with a wide stance that seems to prevent my legs from squeezing the seat causing a lump. Just my thoughts!
