A bunch of us went to the Lake George area of New York State last week for Americade. Didn't go for the organized activities as we did our own daily rides. I had forgotten how truly beautiful this area is to visit. Deserted two lane twisties up and down mountains, through passes next to rivers and lakes, miles and miles of forests right up to the road edge - just magnificent. The ride from Lake George to Lake Placid and then to the summit of Whiteface Mountain on routes 9 and 73 and 9N as close as I'll probably ever get to Heaven. If you can ever get there, it will be worth your effort. If you've been to that area of the US, you know exactly the beauty that I am trying to describe, all taken in on the seat of a HD. Life and God are good.

 

Yes it is a great place to ride, I live in the area and get to ride it everyday....

 

It is pretty sweet. I grew up in Glens Falls. It's about 20 minutes south of Lake George. When i retire from the AF in 2 years I may move back.

 

I just worked up there for storm work, and it is unbelivable.&nbsp\\; Can't wait to go back up to relax and enjoy it.

Great riding indeed.. Only downfall is if you are on the VT side of the Lake and you arrive at 5:46.
