Default Heavy Breather Filter Color Change?

Those with Heavy Breather is there any way to darken the orange colored filter?&nbsp\\; I have just had one installed one on my NightTrain.&nbsp\\; I wanted to exaggerate the air-cooled aggressive look.&nbsp\\; However, the orange filter seems to disrupt the black look of the bike.
&nbsp\\;
Any ideas on how to darken the filter?

I'm no expert but the color is due to the oil added to the K&amp\\;N filter. I also have been looking for a colored filter as my bike is black and I want the color match. I have even heard of people soaking their filters in food coloring (no kidding). I'm afraid we are stuck with the&nbsp\\;redish orange.
&nbsp\\;
Unless someone else has any other options..?

I believe you can dye it once you clean all the oil out of it.

How do you clean the oil out.&nbsp\\; And after you dye it how do you re-oil it?

The look of the sock shouldn't matter. The sock is only supposed to be put on when in very bad rain to protect the motor. I feel your pain looking for an intake to match the bike.&nbsp\\;

The color will fade to grey and when you re-oil it it won't return to the bright red it was when new.
