Default Getting the Security System to Work

I have a 2007 Heritage, I have FOB's, and therefore I'm assuming a security system.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; However, I don't need the FOB to start and ride the bike any distance.&nbsp\\; The Key indicator never blinks.&nbsp\\; I can set a PIN per the instructions in the manual ... How I get the damn thing to engage? &nbsp\\;I bought a siren but its not worth much if the secuirty system is not enabled.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
Any Ideas?&nbsp\\;

Eddie

Go to the "Do It Yourself" part of the forum. There is a section that discusses Alarms. Also go to Search and do a search on "FOB".

Same deal when I brought mine home. You will have to set up your 5 digit pin code then it will work as normal. The easiest way, instead of me telling you to turn your ignition switch this way then that way and hit your turn signal switches this many times, is just refer to your owner's manual and look up the section that covers setting up your 5 digit security pin code and after you follow the instructions it will be working.

Also don't forget to replace the battery in the FOB once a year or you will be starting your bike every time by intering your pin code. I think they would last longer than a year but that is what the owner's manual says &amp\\; I would just rather avoid the hastle.

Problem solved, I had a dead battery in one of the FOB's and both required reprogramming by the dealer, they never were operable!!

Was sounding kinda like that. Any idea on how long they lasted? Mileage wise?
