I've seen&nbsp\\;noticed some guys have used their original&nbsp\\;Fatboys muffler heatshields with newly installed Rush slip ons. Having recently got some Rush&nbsp\\;slash downs for my UK 07 model can anyone advise on how best to fit \\; that is , before the muffler is put on or after , and whether any alterations are required. Also are the heatshields in contact with the muffler itself thereby possibly leaving marks/sctatches&nbsp\\;if removed in the future ? Any comments or advice is appreciated . Thanks. &nbsp\\;Jon

 

You can put them on after the slipons are installled. They attach via a hose clamp arrangement. They would porbably leave some minor scratches if removed later. I left my shields off when I had slipons in the beginning.

 

I have Screamin Eage II slip ons. The shields would fit but the finish on the slip ons is nice.
I left them off.

I didn't use the shields when I first installed my Rush slip-ons.&nbsp\\; But after a couple of weeks and countless hours of trying to remove burnt boots from the slip-ons, I put the factory shields on and haven't had a melted boot since.&nbsp\\; As others say, they will probably leave a rash on the slip-ons but mine were already messed up from having to use a razor blade to get the burnt stuff off so the shields actually hid the rash.
