Default PCIII or PCIII EX

I have been doing some research on ECM controllers for my fatty.&nbsp\\; I am leaning on the PCIII, but there is also another version (PCIII EX)&nbsp\\;that utilizes the O2 sensors, or CA friendly.&nbsp\\; One of my concerns&nbsp\\;is riding at different elevations.&nbsp\\; How does the EFI adjust the AFR without O2 sensor feedback using the PCIII?&nbsp\\; Does the EX version allow the O2 sensors to operate in a more wide band mode.&nbsp\\; I want to be sure&nbsp\\;mine is&nbsp\\;running optimal&nbsp\\;when I&nbsp\\;head into the mountains.&nbsp\\; Road trips here in AZ can vary&nbsp\\;over 7000ft&nbsp\\;

I think you need to ask power commander how it works. The PC 3 that does not use the 02 sensors if like tuning on a carb model. you can use a canned map or get a dyno tune for perfection. if you want the best of both then get a thunder max with auto tune. Just set it for 14.7 when getting your inspection and reload for 13.5-13.8 when done.
I went from sea level to 5000 ft and it was fine. You can always change the map 5% to offset if going over 5000 ft and then change it back. The Thundermax re-tunes it self and it requires no dyno tune. I am keeping my PC 3 because i dont plan on changing the pipes.

EX version is California CARB friendly.&nbsp\\; I wouldn't even think of it for AZ.

I had the same question. I was told dont buy Ex unless you live in cali. You dont need/want otherwise.&nbsp\\; PS - i disconected the O2 sensors on my 08. I think HD had to put those on to play nice with laws from state to state.
