Default Front brake failed

Car in front braked suddenly and within the split second I tried to stop,&nbsp\\;my front brake lever went limp. I collided into the car bumper and bike went down.&nbsp\\;Bike is beat up but not extreme.&nbsp\\; Anyways, while checking the brake&nbsp\\;I found that&nbsp\\;pumping on the lever, the pressure returns. Letting it sit for a while, the pressure disappears and&nbsp\\;no&nbsp\\;more brake again.
&nbsp\\;
At this time the insurance company is waiting for a quote from the dealer. I just had&nbsp\\;the 20k mile (32 thou km.) major service done about two weeks ago and had no problems until this incident.
&nbsp\\;
Does this brake problem&nbsp\\;sound like an issue with the master cylinder?
Anyone have this issue and&nbsp\\;have the dealer&nbsp\\;take responsibility?
&nbsp\\;
Facing a&nbsp\\;$1000 deductible and no bike for the rest of the summer.
&nbsp\\;
BTW, first post but been hanging around for awhile.

Did not see any&nbsp\\;bubbles in the line, although it feels&nbsp\\;like air in there.&nbsp\\;At the time, was dealing with tow trucks, car owner, insurance etc. so might be.&nbsp\\;Bike was towed to shop and I will try to get back there tomorrow. Im a bit sore and a few scratches, but ok, mostly hurt my ego, as trusted my bike&nbsp\\;over anything. I never worked on the front brakes, only changed the hose on the rear brake for a braided one myself.&nbsp\\; Front&nbsp\\;feels like when you bleed them and dont tighten the nipple and pull on the lever again.

when you go to check it pump the brake up and hold it while you check. I would def. put a braided line on the front anyways they feel much better.

Where to get a good deal on a braided front brake line? Hell, they feel and LOOK much better.

Sure sounds like a master cylinder problem.
&nbsp\\;
Get it checked.
