Default refurbishing a Corbin seat for softail deluxe 2008

I'm 4'11" and&nbsp\\;recently bought a 2008 Deluxe. I had the front end lowered by Harley because I could not reach the kickstand.&nbsp\\; Harley also suggested I buy a reach/close seat however the Reach seat Harley makes was not going to do what I needed it to do.&nbsp\\; So Harley ordered a custom seat for me according to my height and inseam.
After riding 3500 miles on the stock seat, I finally got the corbin seat this week and I'm not very happy with it.&nbsp\\; It does put my feet closer to the ground but I feel like I'm on top of the handle bars now and I feel crowded with the feet positions.
&nbsp\\;
What I'm wondering is if Corbin does a good job- refurbishing seats.&nbsp\\; I'm thinking of sending it back and asking them to remove 1/2" the back seat area.&nbsp\\; Does anyone have awful stories of doing this?
&nbsp\\;
Any suggestions?

Default RE: refurbishing a Corbin seat for softail deluxe 2008

I've had 7 Corbins over the years, and their customer service has gone to hell in the last 24 months.&nbsp\\; I contacted BITCHNSTICHN, and they said they would rework a Corbin.&nbsp\\; I'm sure they'll be cheaper, and probably do a better job.&nbsp\\; Here's their web site and phone.&nbsp\\; dan@bitchnstichninc and phone is: .303.238.5404.&nbsp\\; Hope this helps.&nbsp\\; CCRyder

I have the same bike and a corbin seat, I ended up taking the corbin off because it was SO HARD and wouldnt break in. Now I am looking for something else more comfy.

I have a Corbin seat and I'm happy with it, but unless you can do a ride-in to their factory in Hollister I absolutely wouldn't use them for alterations.

You need to check out Mean City Cycles web site to see what kinds of alterations they do, then give them a call. I can tell you from personal experience that they do a great job at a reasonable price. I've sent them two seats so far and couldn't be more pleased with the results and with their service.

+1 on Mean City Cycles - they do great work at reasonable prices. I'm 5' 2", also on a 08 Deluxe. I had Mean City rework my stock seat and they did a great job. My sister also sent them hers and one of my friends sent them one as well. They really are awesome - highly recommend.
