Default windshield wiggle

Just put a removable HD windshield on my 01 springer. At 70 mph the top of the bike fish tails, it doesn't move the front wheel just the top of the bike. Checked the tire pressure, axle, yoke bearings and windshield hardware. never had a wiggle until i put the windshield on. anyone ever have this happen to them? Andy

It's normal at that speed, but usually only when cornering. I can definitely corner way faster without it on.

BTW, welcome to the forum.

Take the windshield off and see if it still happens. If it does, I'd probably get rid of it.

I have one on my Cross Bones with no issue, just did 1400 miles mostly interstate at 70 to 80 mph. I do have the low profile, maybe thats the difference. It does have more flex than my last one on my sportster the mounting is different on the springers, the clamps on the forks is more stable.

No wiggle on the Fatboy, but I noticed that the windshield could be made more snug by tightening the allen fasteners on each side.&nbsp\\; Takes a few minutes more to place or remove, but it's more secure.&nbsp\\; The spring clips on the Fatboy work fine, but the allen fasteners add a bit more security.

Thank for all the returns, I'm hoping HD will exchange the standard for a shorty. Andy
