it has been about a year but as i remember' you have to take off the bottom heat sheilds. thier should be a allen screw you have to remove. i think i used a long allen key to get them out just enough where i could get vice grips on the baffle. then i pulled them out, twisting back and forth as needed. should not be that hard to do. just might take some hard pulling

I just installed new QQ BCT Baffles tonight! Each pipe has 2 hose/pipe clamps that I completely loosened and the shields slid back and were removed. I think it was a 5/32 allen wrench that removed each screw holding the stock baffles in. Removed those and then used a small pair of needle nose pliers to grab the baffle and used a slight twist in each direction and slid the old baffles out. Drilled new holes for the new baffle installation 6 inches from the end of the pipe as per the instruction for best performance. Used a 12" pair of hemos to grab the new baffles, slid them in the line up the new holes and screwed the new screw in and then placed the shields back on and tighetned them up and wiped em off. Only started it for 10-15 seconds, yeah, I think it is the sound I was looking for. My boys started to swell up, as my wife would say!!&nbsp\\;

With the pipes HOT take a 2x2 board and stick it into the baffle.&nbsp\\; May have to shave a little off the edges.&nbsp\\; Twist and pull at the same time.&nbsp\\; The wood will dig into the baffle and give you some leverage.&nbsp\\; Must be HOT.&nbsp\\; I've even left the bike run to get it started.&nbsp\\; Sometimes it takes 5 minutes and sometimes 45 minutes.&nbsp\\; Good luck.

I had no problem. Took off the heat shield and then removed the allen screw. The stock baffles slid out with no problem. I then installed the BCT baffles.

Yea, run the bike for a minute or two to heat up the pipes, it helps expand the metal, grab the baffle with something other than your hand to pull out since you said you have it out somewhat already. Should help some.

Maybe I'm lucky but I took the screw out and they pretty much fell out.&nbsp\\; I cut them in 1/2 and re-installed.&nbsp\\; They should just right.

the mechanic who pulled my baffles and cut them for my big radius used either a body dent puller or a slap hammer and it came out in seconds, what are you&nbsp\\; going to do when you have the baffles out , i cut mine in half and put them back in, it made the bike louder but i still had that metallic sound to it. i am thinking of using big city thunder baffles they get a lot of good reviews on hdforums

If you remove the baffles and leave them out for a while you could do damage to your moter. Once you remove the baffles there is not enough back presure for the bike to run right, thay run to lean, Once the exhsust presser reaches a sertain speed you are not burning all the fule and thats whay thay run lean.
