Default to sissy or not to sissy, that is the question

I am pretty much a solo rider. Eery once in a blue moon ill take a female for a ride but its mostly just me.
I LOVE the look of a tall chrome sissy bar but ride with a corbin stinger saddle that has been customized.&nbsp\\; It is pretty much a solo seat with a little bit of a spot for a passenger to sit on.
&nbsp\\;
My question is..
Would it be totally retarded to put a sissy bar on for looks when I dont even have a seat that would back up to the sissy bar?
Curious as to what all my harley brothers think.
&nbsp\\;
Worst case scenario I could always throw on the uncomfortable badlander seat .

Get a removable sissy bar, then you can use it when needed and leave it off when not... best of both worlds!

If your going to be a ssisy, then be a MAN about it! HArd mount the SOB!&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; i got a hard mount on mine with the 12" HD bar. I want at least a 3 foot bar back there. Once you catch sissy bug, u dont go back!

As for the seat, Ive seen enough old skool and rat rides to know that a sissy bar is seriously less about function than it is making a statement. If it looks cool leave it! No rulebook says you gotta have a seat that goes all the way to it.

No sissy bars for me.
Got a backrest though.
Not a real fan of the very tall ones.

Looks like TK beat me to the plug.&nbsp\\; Haulen *** would look good if your passenger seat isnt very long cause of the low profile of it.&nbsp\\; If the seat doesnt go all the way back to the passenger seat mounting hole then it would look odd.

5 minutes? Are you exaggerating? Not familiar with that mount, but my HD removable takes all of maybe 5 seconds to remove &lt\\;shrug&gt\\;.&nbsp\\;

Its whatever makes YOU happy...We all have our own opinions...The wife dont always ride with me, but when she does, she loves the comfort of the backrest...

I got removeable backrest.&nbsp\\; Don't use it much anymore since my wife had back surgery.&nbsp\\; One thing it is handy for though is to strap a tour bag too for trips.&nbsp\\; Saw tunaman had a good pic of this in his post.
