Default battery removal in a sportster

I have a 2007 883 Lo.&nbsp\\; The battery went dead I think.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; I ride it at least 300 miles a week to work.&nbsp\\;
I tried to charge it but heard a clicking sound coming from the battery when the charger was on.&nbsp\\;So I turned off the charger.&nbsp\\;
I read the manual and confused me more...as to how to take it out....&nbsp\\; Seems the oil tank is in the way of disconnecting the negative post.
Trying to avoid taking it to the dealer... any ideas to get this frigging thing out???
Thanks
