2008 Rocker Handlebars
Hey everyone,
Last night I rotated my stock handlebars, basically rotating them down to make a sort of "drag bar" Has anyone else done this or found any problems resulting from doing this? I did also move all the controls and indicators to suit.
I have always felt the stock set up was uncomfortable.
By doing this I have flattened out the bars and not had to replace any cables, handlebars etc.
 \\;
Thanks
Steve

I remember reading somewhere that the bars were slightly adjustable but you're the first I've heard off who tried it. \\; I'm going to try it myself and I'll put on a post when I do. \\; I want to do the opposite of what you did and raise them a little if I can. \\; Its worth a try, stock they are way too low for me. \\; We'll see how it works out.

I've done this as well. Really easy to do. Make sure and put something soft on the tank so you don't smack it with the turnsignals. The hard part is finding the perfect spot. Went too close the first time(low height and closer) and to far away 2nd time. When u get them too far away the angle ok the grips was making my hands fall asleep.
ps also make sure u can still turn bars to both extremes without hittng tank.
PPS it sucks typing on the iPhone LOL.

i have done the same on mine. you just need to be careful about not pinching the internally wired wires when you rotate the controls. just check them. mine are fine, but i could see how they could easily be pinched.
i actually have the rocker specific drag bars at the house. the directions show alignment marks on them. these marks are to line up with the gap of the riser mount. the stock bars actually have these marks as well.
i have held off installing them because of the pain in the a@@ of running the wires, but i think i will eventually install them. i want my arms out further. also, new cables are needed. it is an expensive change over.
