Oil Line removal

Oil Line removal
I am doing the service on my buddies FXST Duece and I need to know how to remove the SOLID stock oil lines from the oil bag.
 \\;
When I change oil, I remove the return hose from the oil bag, start the bike, have the return line dump into a pan. When the oil starts to get low in the bag, I add a quart, then another when it starts getting low again. I check the oil pumping out of the return hose until it looks and feels new. Then I shut off the bike, change the filter, fill the oil bag and its done. this way, ALL oil is changed and unlike the HD shops \\; - which leave over a quart of oil in the bike because they ONLY drain the oil in the bag and refill. Try it - its works and all oil is changed...
 \\;
Anyway, I need to know how to take off the stock oil hoses from the oil bag. Does Harley make a "special HD tool" to remove the hose fitting? If HD makes it I am sure it costs a HD - Hundred Dollars...
 \\;
Any and all help is appreciated.

RE: Oil Line removal
You need this...... fuel line disconnect http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...6337000P?mv=rr
Particularly the 3/8" You can probably buy it separately from a good plumbing or auto shop
That should take care of it!

RE: Oil Line removal
Friend sorry I didn't see your post earlier. You really don't need the tool. I just pinch the two little tabs together with finger and gently pull. it clicks out. When you go to put it back together put a little oil on the connector and pinch the tabs together a little and it will click back into place. As far as the oil goes you will only drain about a 1/2 or so of a quart before it turns clean.

I was surprised at how long my oil stayed clean when I did this.

Thanks for the assist!! I rode my Troublehead to a auto parts shop and got the tools - just in case. Maybe one day they will come in really handy.

Thanks again for the assist...
