Default Open Belt Primary

&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; Anyone installed a Rivera Primo IV Extreme Open Belt Primary on their bike or know of anyone who did.&nbsp\\; Just wondering how well it runs and if there is any problems with that set-up or maybe any other suggestion on different open primary drives besides the Primo.

Default RE: Open Belt Primary

I just installedthe Brute IV Extreme on my Bourget. The 3" open belt drive that was installed at the factory was a Rivera &amp\\; it had some clutch problems. So the factory had a special deal price with return of the original belt drive. I did the work myself &amp\\; it turned out great. Its a very nice setup for the money.
&nbsp\\;
Primo Rivera has detailed installation instructions on their website.

ive got a bdl, heavy duty and cheap, $800.00 on ebay. simple install but remember to install a outer belt guard. if you ever dip it over and its open then you ruin everything. i did just that and the belt guard saved it. all and all there cheap compared to the stock chain setup. but evry one thinks how cool they are. if i had to do it again i wouldnt.

No never got pant leg caught in the belt. Also It would be difficult to do.

The clutch setup on the Brute IV Extreme is very well made & pretty much bullet proof. Installation is very straight forward. Primo Rivera also is very helpful by phone. I do have a bit of clutch noise when the bike is running in neutral with the clutch lever out. As soon as I pull in the clutch lever it goes away - same when running in gear. I think some further clutch adjustments will fix it.

Hotrod351,,what bike did you put that on,,I see on all listing that the bdl open primary is only good to 2006,,,do you or anyone here know why it may or may not work as a replacement primary for the 2007-up softtails.
