Anyone know where I can get a chart that cross references parts on softtails? Or some where I can get part numbers for my bike?

I am wanting to do all of these modifications, but not sure of what will fit properly?

My next project is getting a fender and tank set to get painted. I have a carbed 2000 Heritage. Can I get a set off a Fatboy to fit on my Heritage? What years of Heritages will interchange? Is the rear fenders on an injected fit a carbed bike?

So many questions with so little knowledge.

 

Just to get you started.......... for YOUR part numbers, get the Official Factory Parts Catalog for 2000 softails. It will have P/N's for all 2000 Softails including Heritage and Fatboy. So at least for year 2000 it is a cross reference of sorts. When you use P/N's to search the HD website, they state what years and models they fit (unless they are obsolete). I know there are big differences in general between 1999 models and 2000 up. Among Heritages, HD made changes almost every year starting 2004 so be careful. For paint sets, Heritage/Fatboy fenders stay mostly the same as far as how they attach, but lighting and wiring differ a little. Tanks can be a different story. There IS a difference on tanks between EFI and carbed. When you are looking at parts, just be sure "fitment" is listed and it never hurts to confirm. I don't know of a full cross reference for parts/year/model fitment, but I would have to think there is one (maybe at HD or on-line somewhere).
