Smile Help! Need more comfortable handlebars for FATBOY!

Hey all,

I am looking to change out my handlebars on my 2006 Fatboy for something fatter and more comfortable. I figure that I need some that are just about 1-1.5" higher and come back towards me just about the same 1-1.5" to relieve the stress that occurs in my lower back on long rides.

It is very difficult for me to tell just what the changes are practically by looking at different rise and pullback dimensions that are advertised by the after market. I bought a set of Wild1 Chubby 504's because I was told they are just a stock replacement for the Fatboy bars with a little added to the rise and pullback. They were not. Actually felt lower than my stock ones and created more problems.

Has anyone else just needed a small amount of adjustment (no apes or beach bars) and found it in a particular handlebar they have found? Any help is much appreciated!

Have you considered changing the risers? You should be able to get what you want that way and is easier/cheaper than doing bars. Just a thought....

For $50 you can buy new Wide Glide bars or new Heritage Bars from the dealership. Both these bars are a little taller and can be installed using the same cables and stock wiring. Go to a dealer and sit on a Heritage to see how they feel. The Heritage bars felt great to me and I will be installing them when my new grips and custom mirrors come in Do it all at once...

Forgot to mention, I drilled them so I will be running the wiring internally...

If you decide on risers you can do this in 20mins and no cable issues. These are 4.5" rise and 1.5" pullback. It hit the sweet spot for me for $40.

I love my stock bar, don't plan on getting a different one.

Default No risers

Yes, I thought of using risers but they won't work with my nacelle.

I´ve seen several Fat Boys and Road Kings with these bars, comfortable... even better with some risers (but you don´t want to loose the nacelle)...

Check 'em out,

WILD1 makes great handle bars. I've actually ridden a friends Fatboy with those bars installed and they are very comfortable and look great.

Default Your Bike.

Sweet ride, man!! I have an 08, swapping out apes for those bars. I'm sold after seeing your bike. How tall are you? Trying to figure out if the pullback will be to much for me, I'm six foot. What kind of seat do you have, it looks great. I put a 09' fatboy seat on mine. Thanks for any help!!
