Default cams and gas mileage

How much will cams kill my gas mileage. I was thinking of a andrews 26g cam and does the bike need to be dyno tuned? The bike is stock except for D&M air cleaner and thunderheader.

I have an evo with a Crane 310 cam .550 lift with 11.0 pistons. I went to a chain and 46 tooth sprocket and still get 45 to 50mpg.

I run 26G's in my 2000 RKC with 3:37 gearing. I get in the low 40's on the interstate, even riding two-up with luggage.........Dyno tuning? I didn't. I used a DFO and did the tuning myself using a long strip of black top, the seat of my pants, and several tanks of gas monitoring the mileage.

I replaced my stock cam on my 2007 Deluxe with an SE211. My overall mileage dropped from low 40s to high 30s. But the 211 comes on at mid rpm so it encourages a more aggressive style of riding. At least I think that's what happened. I did a dyno tune after install. Overall, I'm very happy with the increase in mid range torque. It also made the sound at idle mean, and it completely eliminated any decel pop.
