Default 1992 Heritage front Hubcap Removal

I want to remove the front hubcap. I appears to be held on with a snap ring and no spacer. Can i just remove the snap ring and then remove the hub cap? The exploded view in the manual is not very clear.

The hubcap on my 06 was also the spacer so you should have to have a spacer to put back in place.

Harley makes a chrome spacer kit to replace the stock one or just remove the snapring and reuse the spacer its on.

I think the hubcap looks cheesy. It is held on with a snap ring, very easy to remove from spacer. I am going to look into the Harley spacer thing. I just put mine back together with the original spacer, looks much cleaner.
I,ll probably just machine a stainless spacer this winter, being a machinist has a few advantages.

I like the hubcap. Gives the bike a really unique look compared to other cruisers.
