Default Solo seat install

I am installing a Brawler seat on my 07 Train. After scratching my head and looking at it, I think it may be easier to remove the fender to install the hardware instead of jacking the bike up and reaching in and over the tire.

I installed lowering kits, front and back a month ago, so access is pretty tight. (And contrary to what others may say, that was no day at the beach.)

Any thoughts?

Savannah... Just take a long wire tie and slip the bolt end of the seat hardware over it then just thread the wire tie through the hole from underneath the fender, pull it up and snap on the locking ring....

Cant see why you need to remove anything! i had my o7fxstc lowered right down and have a brawler seat and i have no probs getting it on and off. What you need is a skinny mate with long arms to reach in from the back Via the rear light...(what happens if you get a flat battery you cant keep taking fender off all the time -hope this helps

Pretty ingenious. I'll try a dry run first.
Thanx!

You can also use a zip-tie... that is what Chuck from C&C Seats taught me when I got mine. Simple and easy.

Hogdiver- I'm using the OEM hardware, which is basically a captive nut secured with a snap ring.
Thanks again.

You might want to put a thin film of silicone sealant on the flange that fits the bottom of the fender before putting it in with the wire or cable tie. The sealant will glue it in place and keep the nut from collecting road grime under it to grind off the paint under the fender and reduce the vibration that can chip the paint around the hole on you.

You read my mind about the sealant. And the wire tie trick was TOO easy.
Took longer to remove the plastic film off of the fender than the hardware install.
Thanks again.

The instruction said use a long zip tie to guide the insert, works every time.
