Default Has anyone installed a West Eagle Solo Seat Mounting Bracket Kit?

I am wanting to install a spring seat on my 2005 Springer Classic.

Has anyone installed a West Eagle Solo Seat Mounting Bracket Kit (Part Number H2286)?

I am curious as to how the front seat bracket attached to the bike, if other owners are happy with the product, what they learned from the installation, and if it will work with Harley's Standard Leather Solo Saddle (Part Number 52004-25).

***UPDATE***

So I decided to go for it. I just ordered the mounting kit from West Eagle and the tractor seat from my local dealer (Aces and Eights in Mason Ohio). If everything fits together, I will be very happy. If it doesnt, I will bend, hammer, duct tape, pop rivet, file, weld, tweak, and re-powder coat whatever needs adjusting until it does!

Let me know if you are interested in seeing how the project turns out and I will send you (or post) pictures.

See you in Milwaukee!

I have the chromed kit from J&P Cycle.

It is a PIA to install as the parts don't all work out of the box, but worth it.

sgttaylor, please keep us updated.

I've been up and down the catalogs looking for the right setup. I was more concerned with the seat frame cover. You have EFI, so is your ECM located on the rear fender (just above the battery/fuse block assembly)??? My Deluxe is, so I couldn;t make out from the H2286 if the seat frame cover backing fits over the ECM. If it does, at least everything under the seat is covered...
good luck..

So I am just back from the 105th in Milwaukee and the West Eagle solo seat mounting kit that I ordered has arrived!

I dont have the seat yet, but the kit bolted up without issue. The frame/battery/ECM cover that comes with the kit is going to work very nice! To answer Ronyd's question, my ECM is in the back of my fender (just like his Deluxe) and the kit covers it nicely. My only issue is finding a way to cleanly terminate the leather bib that runs from under my dash, down the rear of the tank, and used to terminate up under my seat. That end of the bib is now exposed and I think needs cleaning up a bit, but that should not be difficult...

The seat arrived at my dealer so I am going to pick it up today so stay tuned for another update tomorrow. I am concerned that the springs on the mounting kit could be spaced differently than the seat mounts. I have a solution ready, but would rather everything just fits. Wish me luck!

Final thoughts (and pictures) coming soon...

Sgt Taylor
