I have a friend that wants to buy a harley and I know someone that is selling a 05 fatboy with 11K on the clock for 15K. Now in my opinion I would just buy a new fatboy for that price...am I wrong for suggesting that he look at the new bikes for that price?

Thanks guys
Harley isn't about price... Tell him/her to take a test ride & then again at least one more with an other model.. Then he/she will have a chane to know just a little bit more....
Is your friend a new rider?? I would then push towards a used bike!! Maybe not that one...seems a bit high in price, unless there is a-lot of work into it!!
unless the used one had a bunch of goodies (that your friend would do to a new one anyway) - for less than $1,000 - I'd go with a new one under warranty.
Harley's "2 year warrenty" is useless. I would look for a USED bike, and to narrow it down I would look SPECIFICALLY for a low miliage 2002 model year. That was the best built year for Harley bikes to date. A good low miliage 02' should run for no more than around 10k.
