Default lowering nightrain with deluxe shocks

i'm looking for alternatives in lowering my 08 night train and my neigbor has an 08 deluxe. i like the height of the deluxe a lot better than the night train. we talked about trading shocks and he was open to it. is it possible to just trade shocks between the bikes to get the deluxe height?

Yes. Softails have the same swing arm configuration. The Deluxe just uses longer shocks.
