07 Turn signal switch !!OBSOLETE PART!!
(07 FXST) I got cought in a bad rain storm now my left turn signal goes on and off when it wants to. I pulled the switch housing apart and with the switch dangling there I can tap the switch and it comes on. Great its a bad switch, I went to the dealer and they say "hum .....thats an obsolete part" at first I was just going to buy a new one, but with the switch being obsolete, know I'm thinking warrentee. The dealer agreed, it goes in next week. I'll keep you posted.

NO...it CAN'T be an "obsolete" part.
Any manufacturer in the USA that sells an assembled item for consumer use is required by the Federal Trade Commission to supply parts for that item for a minimum of 7 years (used to be 10 years). If by chance the part is question HAS been replaced or become otherwise available, the manufacturer is required to provide a suitable replacement part at a price that is comparable to the original part. In other words...it has to be a direct replacement that can be assembled without undue complications.
The turn signal switch might haev been SUPERCEDED by another part....but it can't be "obsolete".
