Default Deluxe Oil Line Connections..........

My Neighbor disconnected his oil lines on his 2006 Deluxe to install a chrome cover.

The lines disconnected very easily. Now, the lower connection to the crank case will not snap back in.

The upper line snaps in and out with ease but the lower one will not go back in.

Is there a trick to getting the lower one to snap back in?

Murphys law is in effect!

I don't have an answer for you...but those plastic snap in clips are not that great!! Almost like use it once and replace it!!

I will subscribe to this thread because I am curious about the answer since, I have noticed a slight leak on one of my lines and will probably change to a SS line in the near future!!

I hear ya about those connections not being too good.

I sttopped over my neighbors with my manual and I found that he had finally got it!

After playing around with it for an hour or two,the oil line snapped right in.

When I left him to come to work he hadn't filled the engine with oil yet.

Hopefully he will be o.k.....but it seems like they can loosen and leak very easily If you mess with them!!

I'm working on my oil lines now. If you check the manual, it says there is a tool just for those. I removed and reinstalled the uppers with little trouble. I was removing the oil tank and didn't need to remove the lowers. There are "O" rings inside, be sure to check them and lube em going back together. I agree they look cheap, but I guess they work. At least so far.
