Default Performance Machine, 200mm rear tire, Caliper question

I recently installed a Performance Machine (PM), 4-Piston rear caliper on my 08 Custom. At the same time, I also installed a Lyndall stainless rear rotor and Z-Plus pads. I am using the stock rear master cylinder. I have been doing my own brake jobs on cars, dirt bikes, and 4-Wheelers for over 30 years, so I have checked and double checked the obvious.

I had high expectations for this setup, but I am not happy with the performance at all. I'm not sure if it is even as good as the stock setup.

This is the caliper that is designed with the caliper and mounting bracket machined into one. So, there is no way to shim this set up (short of having to machine wheel spacers).

Performance Machine has been very willing to work with me to try several different things, but we haven't hit on anything yet.

Any Ideas?

This is the same caliper. It's on my brothers 04 Deuce. He says it works great.

FL Deuce... Can you find out if he had the "Wow, what a difference feeling" when he first installed it. Did he use the pads that came with it? Is he still using the stock master cylinder?

Thanks for the quick reply!

Hey Deuce, one more thing... Did he stick with the stock rotor or aftermarket? If aftermarket... solid or floating?

I've got the PM front caliper and it took a bit for the pads to seat. After seating well, the performance is great. Also I got a lot of brake dust the first couple of weeks from the pads as well.......that has stopped now.

i have PM calipers, and hogpro rotors and use the stock master cylinder. my set up seems to work really well. i use the mityvac to bleed the brakes. it was about $30 and was well worth it.
