Default Alarm system

Hi all, New member here, Riding most of my life (43) I have a 99 fxsts (7 years) with what I assume is the factory alarm system. I was riding the other day and it just quit running and would not start, To make a long story short I traced the issue down to the alarm system main control brain. It looks like it might have heated up and is leaking some kind of brown sticky stuff. Could anyone tell me if this is common? and what the dealer will most likely soak me for a new one? But more importantly the service manual has NOTHING about this in the electrical scematics so I'm curious as to how this got heated in the first place. Thanks a lot for your help. Tom

Brown sticky stuff? Sounds like the pack has given up some of it's seals. I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem but that doesn't mean it's not common. Go to a dealer and get a replacement.
