Nothing but the best for my investment. Using synthetic should be a no-brainer. Rather than ask if you should, perhaps a better question should be "why should I not go synthetic?".
I realize dino is just fine and if changed regularly will be fine just as it's been for years....but synth is better so why not use it?
The real debate seems to be "when" to change to it, rather than "if".....
As Joe Diver stated in another post about syn or not oil. When do you feel you should change your oil?
I know in my Truck (5.7 Hemi) and Cars I have heard reports of 20k oil changes with 5k/10k Filter changes. I know this sounds a bit extreme; but Syn runs better with less buildup.
There is no right or wrong answer.....I change mine earlier than recommended. However, I have a buddy that uses a famous synthetic and changes his every 10k. His '03 Ultra has about 80k on it and is still going strong. He has been using the same method for going on 20 years and racks the miles up on his bikes without any problems.
I use syn. I change oil every 10 thou give or take a little change filters every 5 thou give or take. been working good on this bike for over 40 thou. talked to the dealer about my way and they said fine ...
I stay with the factory suggestions of every 5000 miles. I use synthetic oil and run an HD oil filter.
+1
If you don't stay within their specifications you will probably invalidate your warranty, should you have an issue that could remotely be attributed to lubrication.
