How to clean black exhaust??
The heat shields on my black supertrapp are starting to get stains and splotches on them after only a few hundred miles. Any way to clean them up or do I need to repaint with BBQ black or something?
Black pipes are getting popular, I can't be the first to have this problem.

Sounds crazy enough to work. I'll try it on a small area. I had thought about graphite or something else to stain them with. I'll never find pig spit here. But, the pipes get so hot, hotter than the stock pipes ever got...I don't think the pig spit is going to stay on there.

tried that
This is really a case of "fix it till it breaks". I had the heat problem fixed with XIEDs and the stock pipes. Then I put on a 2:1 supertrapp. It looks better, sounds better, and pulls a lot harder -- but it throws off a lot of heat on the rear header.
