Question 07 Deluxe - Help - Bolts missing-Never put in?

Hey all,

I have a 2007 Deluxe and was putting it on the jack to install chrome, and I noticed the bolt securing the Rear Brake Switch was missing, and then looked in the book, page 8-64. The book shows fastener 6, and a bracket with another bolt directly above it. I have no bolts or bracket here, looks like it secures the engine to the frame close to the shock mount.

It looks like the bolts & bracket were never on. No marks or paint gouges from the head of a bolt.

Also, where the shocks mount to the front of the chassis, there are two threaded holes in the frame - Page 2-92 figure 2-111 shows the holes, but no other detail. The holes are open on right and left sides.

I think the Rear Brake Switch bracket needs to be on, but what about the bracket and upper bolt (engine mount)? And the two empty holes on the frame near the shock forward mount?

Are the bracket and both bolts missing / never installed?
I can't find any detail in the service manual describing this, maybe someone with an 07 deluxe can take a look...?

Thanks,

Andy

Thanks for the offer.
I rode up to my dealer today - they are open everyday - service too. Very handy. Seminole Harley so far, good people all around.

The Bolts and Bracket are missing - should be on. It is one of the rear mounts for the engine- Parts will be here Friday.

I don't really know if the parts fell off or were never on, for sure, but it looks like they were never installed.

i was at the dealer and me and a friend where looking at the bikes, I then noticed that there where 2 bolts missing from timing cover on a new bike that sat in the area where customers pick up there newly purchased bike.

i pointed it out to my friend and he told the sales guy. he acted as if it was no big deal and 20 min later a mechanic brought over bolts and a power tool he then screwed them in and tightened them with the power tool, i then asked them shouldn't those be torqued? he just shrugged his shoulders and said it should be fine......

dealers are ********
