I removed the rear portion of my 2005 Fatboy factory seat, there was a plastic sheet protecting the rear fender, Ii removed the sheet however there is a residue showing the outline of the plastic sheet. What can you use to remove this, rubing compound?

 

WD 40 will soften it up so you can wipe it off....then a coat of wax.....that's what I did....I'd be careful with compound..may take off too much paint.....
